As a Pack Leader (Store Manager), you make a difference in the lives of pets by inspiring, leading and motivating others to perform at their best everyday. It is your responsibility to create an environment of kindness and empathy towards pets, help spread our message, attain positive business results and employ effective processes.


Here is what a day in the life of a Pack Leader would look like:

□ Provide guests with an exceptional experience.

□ Overall management of store operations.

□ Share product knowledge and suggestions to fit customer needs and promote pet health.

□ Coach and lead Pack Members to provide an exceptional guest experience and achieve sales goals.

□ Oversee all aspects of inventory such as Merchandise Replenishment, Inventory. Adjustments, Weekly Cycle Counts, Store Transfers, Returns to Vendors, and shipment processing.

□ Organize special events and promotions in store.

□ Must do all the paperwork, including the End of the Month paperwork. Also train assistants how to correctly complete the daily paperwork.

□ Employment problem solver, including hiring good people and firing bad ones

□ Must be able to perform any of the functions of the franchise

□ All other assigned duties from the any member of The Paw Depot Retail Management Team.


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move animals and items that weigh more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be comfortable around animals.

Organizing and Connecting • Effective in securing adequate resources for doing the day-to-day work – evidenced in business planning and staff training.


Staffing and Supporting • Good at promoting team work and communication: These traits are often manifested in the personal style of the manager being “approachable”. • Securing the right level of staff resources; protecting and developing those resources.


Controlling and Challenging and Celebrating • The Paw Depot managers are comfortable, even relish, working in a performance- and target-driven environment: they tend to view performance indicators as relevant and meaningful to the service they are expected to deliver.


Leadership Characteristics • The Paw Depot managers are able to see the “big picture” with their feet firmly on the ground and focused on operational realities. • They are champions of constructive change and enthusiastic about performance improvement. • They foster good relations with franchise owners – often as a means of ensuring their service gets the resources it needs. • They support their teams energetically – especially through training and planning ahead to prepare for change.

Experience

We will teach you a lot but what we need you to already have:
□ Passion for extraordinary customer service and the well-being of pets.
□ At least 2-3 years of previous retail sales experience.
□ At least 1-2 year in a retail managerial capacity.
□ Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered at The Paw Depot.
□ Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts.
□ Time management and organizational skills.
□ Proven written and verbal communication skills.
